Magic with Mirrors...My 4 Inspiration Ideas for your April 2019
Mirrors are for every home, and I'll let you know that a cleverly strategically place mirror or mirror arrangement can really make the room, if not the entire home. Given April is the fourth month of the year, I thought we would do 4 simple Inspirational Ideas for you this month:
Inspiration 1: Circle Mirrors in a Square Arrangement of pictures and figures.
What I love about this idea is that the mirror appears as a sort magical portal through the wall and into the unknown. The square arrangement of picture and other décor items really creates an attraction around this mirror of personal reflection. The viewed into the mirror becomes like the art on the wall. So simple, quite affordable to pull off. Works for modern and traditional homes.
Budget less than $2000. Facebook Market Place and Gumtree for the surrounding artworks. For the mirror, give your new friend Mile Miletic a call, his business Grand Reflections here in Brisbane has a new range of circular mirrors that will do the job well.
Inspiration 2: Pattern up those mirrors.
Really modern in traditionally sophisticated sense. Cool and Relaxing, I'd love to do find a space at home to work out something like this. The walls feel substantial, and you become the art of the art in this room. A little bit like a modern Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles. It's simply the love and perhaps even die for. However if something like this would take too many Sunday to create, I have seen this other one which looks less dedicated, but also very effective.
I think it's just a matter of matching the mirror frame and it's layered pattern to your home's colours and style. Perhaps getting a sheet laser cut, might be the way to go, and layering that over a mirror panel. Just an idea, but it would make your home more memorable and look rather special.
Inspiration 3: Fire and Ice.
A mirror over afire mantel is a dead set classic. I understand fire places are not so common here in Brisbane, but they are fantastic decor features if you have space for one, I highly recommend getting it installed. The mantel provides a great shelf for showing off some premium sculptures and other pieces of art. It sometimes gets cold in winter, and well then you can put a large mirror over it and it'll definitely make your room look rather special, charming and grand.
Again give Mile Miletic a call, his business Grand Reflections here in Brisbane has a few large ornate mirrors that do work well over mantels.
Inspiration 4: Grand Mirrors in the Bedroom
I personally love big grand mirrors in the bedroom. This Mac Palace bedroom has done it well. Snug, cosy as contemporary, yet functionally and decoratively place.
Mirrors definitely have place in every home in various rooms. The trick is really taking them to the next level in creating a splendid unexpected feature out of them.
